We are all busy ladies.  Each one of us has our own version of crazy and hectic that we embrace and vent about sometimes.  It’s so important for us as women to support each other in our crazy lives and not hold competitions about whose life is busier or more important.  It was really interesting to hear about women in different walks of life and their daily routines.

Debbie and Anaya discuss the differences with three other busy lady lives.  One is a single woman who is career oriented then we have a retired grandmother and finally a mom with 4 kids who is going to school full time.  We also compare our days and even though most of us talk to each other on a daily basis, it is fascinating to hear how others go through their day.  Anaya and Debbie will both admit we were tired just listening to the mom with 4 kids!

Each day is unique and we should embrace it with all the craziness or peace it may bring. Laurin, Debbie’s daughter-in-law even mentioned when things don’t go the way we plan it is our way of having a time out and gathering our thoughts.

Listen in and see if you can relate to our discussion and then send us feedback or tell us about your day we would love to hear about it!

The Busy Ladies discuss motivation today. Join us and see if any of our ideas spark your interest. Share with us your ideas so we can all learn from them. Motivation is it easy or difficult for you? We go through each day but are we truly motivated at all times? Let’s decide together to help each other be motivated and make our lives the best possible.  What else can we do? Support and mentor one another.

Do you currently lack motivation? How do you change that in your life? Are you able to motivate yourself or do you wait for others to motivate you?  Learn how we motivate ourselves so we can better inspire others.  You must decide to commit in order to succeed at motivation.  Life can be difficult and we sometimes feel as if failing if we aren’t motivated but is it okay sometimes to do nothing and just let life go by. Listen in as we discuss our struggles, our failures, our successes.

Discussion Points:

  • Does your job motivate you to improve yourself and move on?
  • Does your desire to get a better education motivate you to go back to school?
  • Does your unhealthy lifestyle motivate you to exercise and eat healthier?
  • Does an unhealthy relationship motivate you to get out of it if improvement cannot be achieved.

The Busy Ladies discuss what different kinds of food you can take to a super bowl party, family gathering, or a work potluck. Do you go to the store and buy something?  Are you a good cook and love to take your creations to share with others?  We share some ideas that we hope you find helpful.  Don’t let a potluck party intimidate you; be brave you can do this!!

So you’re invited to a party and you’re asked to bring something.  The panic sets in.  Your hands start to sweat.  Then, the questions come: how many people do I have to make food for?  Should I buy something or make something?  Will they like what I bring?  Should I try something crazy, creative, and different? Why did I agree to bring something????

First, know your audience.  What kind of party will this be?  Who will be there?  Is it kid friendly?  Fancy?  Is it for a bunch of dudes who probably won’t even use plates? Will it be a plethora of finger foods or is it a five course dinner?  Knowing what you’re walking into is half of the planning.  The theme and audience will determine the style of dish, the complexity, and the effort.

Second,  you have to consider how much time you have to plan and prep.  If you know you’re going somewhere a few days in advance, it’s easier to plan a more detailed dish. Do your research, make a list and plan ahead.  If you find out you’re going somewhere that day with late notice, then you can pick a place that has a few of your favorite grab and go’s.  The worst thing you can do is plan a detailed, long recipe and not give yourself enough time.  It just creates stress.

Third, don’t judge.  Don’t judge yourself and don’t think others will judge you.  Don’t go in with a negative attitude that people aren’t going to like what you bring or that people will say something if you buy instead of cook.  When people come together and there is food involved, nothing else matters.  Know your limits.  If you’re not an experienced or confident cook, make something simple or bring your favorite dish from your favorite store/restaurant.  You’d be surprised to see that others share your favorites.

Where can I get ideas if I choose to make something?

  • Pnterest-fun, creative, different levels of difficulty, plenty of pictures, LOTS of ideas.
  • Asking friends for their favorite recipes
  • Ask the host what other foods they are planning to make so you can coordinate
  • Stores have great semi-homemade food items that are easy

What if I decide to go out and buy something?

  • Local restaurants have awesome party trays
  • Choose a beautiful dessert from a dessert case
  • Get simple things like chips/dips, veggies/fruit and put it together in a creative display on your own dishware (they’ll never know it’s not fancy)

I interviewed a girlfriend of mine who is an AMAZING cook.  I feel like she creates impossible dishes that I could never come up with.  She convinced me that it is easier than it looks.

  • Tacos-there are a million ways to make them, you can put anything inside them
  • Skewers-fruit, veggies, meat, salad, bacon and pancakes
  • For large groups- DIP!  She said it may sound boring but there are a lot of amazing dips out there
  • When you’re in a hurry, crock pot your dish!

What did you do for New Year’s?  Did you make a resolution or an intention? Are you trying to be a better person this year?

Debbie and Anaya discuss how they came about with their new year intentions and with insight into what they believe is the difference between a resolution and an intention.  Can just one word change the way you feel about your day?  Do you want to be held accountable with others?  Is it easier if you have someone you can talk to? Try this… The ladies think you might find it easier than trying to keep a resolution! Be positive and don’t be hard on yourself you have each new day to try again. Wait for the change that people will notice in you!

Join the Busy Ladies as discuss their New Year’s intentions.  They have found they can’t keep resolutions so they have decided to try intentions this year and see how that goes!  Find out how we are going to do this! Join in on the fun and excitement!!!
